Fall Fair 2023 – A Great Success
Our 2023 Fall Fair, held on Saturday, November 18, was again a great success. Not only did we raise funds for our congregational activities, but we distributed our unsold goods to a long list of local charities, and our hundreds of volunteers carried all this off with much good cheer. It was a great day for shoppers too, with more several more sales areas than the previous year and a sit-down lunchroom back again.
Gearing up for fall fair 2024
Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 16, 2024! That's when our congregational spaces will transform into the biggest church bazaar in Ottawa. So what can you do to help make Fall Fair a great success? It's as easy as 1, 2, 3!
One: Gather and sort your surplus goods so that you can bring them to the church starting Monday, November 11. Housewares, books, toys, clothing, linens, electronics and more will be welcome at that time. Jewellery - even broken pieces - can be brought to the office on an ongoing basis. Check our Donation page for specific criteria. Please make sure that items are in good condition and are things you would be tempted to buy yourself. And they also need to be small enough and light enough that one person can carry them.
Two: Let your friends and neighbours know about this opportunity to declutter by donating their unwanted articles for Fall Fair. And be sure they know the date and location of our event so they can come pre-Christmas shopping. Lots of donations + lots of shoppers = a great sale! Click HERE for posters to distribute and other ways to help us get the word out.
Three: Volunteer! Volunteering with Fall Fair is a great way to get involved, meet new people and share in the excitement of our congregation’s largest fundraiser. There are lots of opportunities available -- during the week before the Fair for sorting goods and setting up, on sale day for selling and many other tasks, and in the week following for take-down and dispersing leftover goods. Even an hour or two is appreciated! Click HERE for specific volunteer opportunities!
