welcome to the firstu food cupboard
Our church includes people on fixed incomes like CPP and ODSP, people who are between jobs, and people who have financial emergencies of all kinds that they didn't see coming. Everybody can use a little help with the groceries during a tough patch or when it's otherwise hard to make ends meet.
With that in mind, we invite you to stop by the FirstU Food Cupboard, if you need a freezer meal or some non-perishable items to help you get through the week, or make it to the end of the month. We're open every Sunday after church, and on Tuesdays from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, and are located in the Grow Tower Room, next to Fellowship Hall. A volunteer will be on hand to help you stock up.

Want to donate to the food cupboard? We're always looking to restock on the following items, including nonperishable foods and frozen meals, and we invite you to participate in our self-guided twenty-week Generosity Challenge running through the end of 2024. Stop by the Welcome Table on Sundays to see our grocery list, click HERE to download it to bring on your next grocery shopping trip, or simply read on below:
Our grocery List
Our volunteers can divide bulk packages of dry goods into single or family-size servings. If you're bringing in something home-made, please bring it in single portions. For now, please keep donations of raw or frozen meat and fish in the neighbourhood of 1-2 pounds for ease of distribution.
Can you check off every item on our list? Donate a different item from our list every week, until you've covered all our bases, and your name will be entered into a draw for tickets to a Harmony Concert (Challenge runs through the end of 2024). |
