What Your Generosity Supports
The title of our campaign, Renewing our Commitment, is meant to recognize our fresh start as we recover from the last few difficult years. With Covid-19 behind us, we are returning to a normal that is better than ever. The on-line presence that was needed simply to function in the weeks and months of isolation us now permanent. Those hampered by distance or lack of mobility can now access FirstU from home.
Over the past year, we have gradually loosened the restrictions required by Covid. Choir rehearsals and performance are back, unmasked, and coffee hour has returned. Our social justice focus on the environment has ended, and we are developing a new focus for the next several years. Our partnership with Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services (OAHS) to develop Odayanhaway, our campus' affordable housing development is progressing, and we continue to fulfill the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
Your support going forward will help fund programs like the Ajashki Garden Project. We are rebuilding our Religious Exploration and Lifespan Learning programs. We will continue to meet the spiritual needs of existing members and newcomers by offering opportunities for non-dogmatic spiritual development to our thriving, growing community.
