What Your Generosity Supports
The title of our campaign, Being Generously Grateful, is meant to recognize how fortunate we are to have this faith community during the good times and the not so good times. We have come through many stressful years dealing with the Covid-19 virus, and yet we have shown our resilience and determination by maintaining a healthy faith community through online, and then hybrid, services and activities.
Over the past year, our FirstU community kept up with our Sunday services - live on YouTube - returned to in-person (masked) choir rehearsals, and even finally returned to hosting in-person coffee hour after services. We continued our three year Congregational Focus on climate action, partnered with Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services (OAHS) on Odayanhaway, our campus' affordable housing development, and have worked with Indigenous partners to fulfill the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. We joyfully Installed Reverend Eric as our minister, and welcomed Interim Music Director, Kirk Adsett, to our congregation.
Your support going forward will help fund programs like the Ajashki Garden Project and special Lifespan Learning events like OWL Summer Camp, as well as allowing us to continue to meet the spiritual needs of existing members and newcomers by offering opportunities for non-dogmatic spiritual development to our thriving, growing community.
