USC Canada has a long and commendable history providing assistance on behalf of Unitarians and the Canadian public. In a changing world, USC Canada has always adapted. A bold decision in 2007 -- to do less -- has made the organization stronger and multiplied its impact around the world. Can we learn from these lesson as we move forward in our visioning process at First Unitarian Ottawa?

Sunday Service May 8, 2011
Rev. David Pohl

Rev. David Pohl is a Minister Emeritus of First Unitarian. He was minister when the church moved from Elgin Street to Cleary Avenue during the 1960s. When Rev. Pohl visited Ottawa he gave a sermon about our congregation during that time: "So the Wind Won't Blow It Away."

"We acknowledge that our campus is located on traditional, unsurrendered and unceded Algonquin Anishinaabeg Territory;
and that the work of reconciliation is a responsibility of our congregation, and of all Canadians.  "Our goal is to educate ourselves and all
who have ears to hear, to be of service to those who are at risk, and to advocate for justice.
