We are a busy congregation!

Our congregation has a wide variety of groups whose  activities arise from a set of shared interests.  For group meeting times and other information, please consult the calendar  or contact the church office at 613-725-1066.

Getting involved is very easy.

Getting more involved in congregational life is a great way to deepen your social and spiritual connections to our community.   Volunteering is also a way to exercise your skills as well as learn new  ones.  Our groups, committees, and councils welcome new people who are interested in their activities and enthusiastic about making a contribution. To see all of our groups and committees, read the 'Getting Connected' Guide.
Caring for Each Other
As part of a community, we are all  responsible for supporting and helping members who are in need.  The First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa has groups who work to help us care for each other.  If you need to talk to someone from these groups, please call the church office at 613-725-1066.

Get Social.
Some of us are involved in the social  life of the church. Our congregation has a wide variety of groups whose activities arise from a set of shared interests. Whatever we do, we work together to build a caring and supportive spiritual community and a just,  compassionate, and sustainable world.

Join a Committee/Council.
Our committees and councils are the backbone of the congregation.  Their members oversee every aspect of our community from taking care of our building, hospitality,  assisting with publications and planning programs.

Be Part of a Program.
Sing in one of our choirs, help out with children on Sunday mornings, be a mentor to the young people in our congregation, or offer pastoral care.  Interested?  The Directors of our programs provide training and opportunities for volunteers.

Take Action.
Are you  interested in issues of social justice and environmental sustainability?  Or are you interested in caring and supporting  those around you?  You’ll find ways to  express your beliefs and concerns through the many groups in our congregation  working to build awareness of issues and help those in need.

"We acknowledge that our campus is located on traditional, unsurrendered and unceded Algonquin Anishinaabeg Territory; and that the work of reconciliation is a responsibility of our congregation, and of all Canadians."
Our goal is to educate ourselves and all who have ears to hear, to be of service to those who are at risk, and to advocate for justice.
