Reverend John Marsh Rev. Marsh gets his new stole at the installation ceremony

On November 16, 2009, the First Unitarian
Congregation of Ottawa installed Reverend John Marsh as its new settled minister.

Born in Norwell, Massachusetts, Rev. John Marsh's interest in the ministry originated in childhood. By the time he was in high school, he was inspired by the idea of going to Divinity School at Harvard. John first studied studied English literature and theatre for his B.A., which he obtained in 1977 from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and then went on to Harvard Divinity School, fulfilling a “long-held dream” of becoming a minister. He was ordained in 1982. Today, John is currently working on a Doctor of Ministry at the Colgate Rochester Theological School.

Rev. John Marsh photoSince then John has served congregations in Edmonton, San Francisco, and New England. On May 10, 2009, Rev. Marsh was given a strong call to ministry at our congregation with an acclamation rate of 98.5 percent.
