Our Whole Lives (OWL) Sexuality Education

OWL is a positive, comprehensive, and age-appropriate educational program that promotes sexual health.  It has four primary goals:

  1. to provide accurate, developmentally appropriate information.
  2. to increase self-esteem and understand relationships with and responsibilities toward others.
  3. to develop interpersonal skills including communication, decision making, and problem solving.
  4. to teach responsibility for personal health and safety.

We have an active OWL Facilitation Committee overseeing the use of OWL curriculum across all age groups, including Grade 1 students, Grade 5 students, junior and senior high school youth, and adults.

Note: Only some OWL programs will be held during a church year.

ELEMENTARY OWL: 5- 6 YEAR OLDS, 9-11 YEAR OLDS

YOUNG ADULT OWL: EXPLORING GENDER AND SEXUAL ORIENTATION

TBA

ADULT OWL WORKSHOP

Why an adult program about sexuality? As experienced adults, don’t we already know what we need to know? Adult OWL is built on the principle that we all keep growing, right up to our last days, and that in every phase of life we face new challenges, new issues, and new ethical dilemmas—and we have new opportunities to revitalize our lives. This weekend event will give you the chance to clarify values and build interpersonal skills. Explore the spiritual, emotional, physical, and social aspects of sexuality in a safe, respectful atmosphere.

This workshop will give you the chance to clarify values, build
interpersonal skills, and explore issues around:

  • Sexuality and Developing Relationships
  • Sexuality and Committed Relationships
  • Sexuality and Aging

Everyone welcome.
