Children's Worship

Worship is a vitally important part of our ministry with children as it invites us into a consideration and shaping of that which is of worth in our lives. Worship stirs our spirits to the joy and wonder of being alive and being a part of the world around us. At First Unitarian, children experience worship in several different ways.

A Time For All Ages

On most Sundays, children join their parents in Worship Hall for 15-20 minutes with the whole congregation. This time features a story or a special ceremony.

Children’s Worship

On the first Sunday of each month, children (and their grown-up friends) gather for their own special worship service in the NOW room prior to RE sessions. Children are participants as well as creators of these services, and are invited to contribute their special talents.

Services for All Ages

During a few Sundays of the year. we all meet together in Worship Hall and the children stay to share in the entire service with their families.  Services include Thanksgiving, The Annual Mitten Tree Service, Christmas Eve, and Easter. See the RE Calendar for the full list.

Religions Education Sessions

Many RE sessions will begin and end with a ritual to offer the children an opportunity for both spiritual centering and intentional closure.
