Words/BooksThe First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa has several different activities for people who enjoy words, writing, and books. Archives: Our archivist and volunteers ensure that our congregational records are organized and accessible for authorized use. Library: We maintain a collection of books on religion, philosophy, and related subjects for the Adult Library. The Parkway Spire Editorial Team: Under the guidance of the Publications Officer, we edit, proofread, and lay out the congregation's monthly newsletter. Reading for Growth Groups: We make up two monthly groups who meet to discuss books on politics, religion, social issues, and more. Click here for dates and selected books. Sunday Bookshelf: We select, publicize, and sell a wide range of books including non-fiction, novels, and children’s books—all appropriate to our UU Principles. UU Writers Group: We provide peer advice, encouragement, and support for people who write on many different topics. |
About the Discussion Board.Update Nov. 22:The website team has determined that the Ramius, the software developer of the Board, will be using our site as a venue for advertising. As a result, we are in the process of finding another software and, hopefully, one with an easier userface. Members of the current Board will continue to receive automatic updates as new information is posted. For more information, contact Claire Harrison or Scott Drennan. |
