Social GroupsOur congregation has a wide variety of groups whose activities arise from a set of shared interests. For group meeting times and other information, please contact the church office at 613-725-1066. Art's Night: An event, held on the last Friday of the month, in which guest artists present their particular art forms followed by a Q & A. Bridge Group: We welcome players from beginner to expert anddivide into appropriate groupings when we have enough players. Crafty Crafters – Knitters: We welcome knitters and crocheters who want to share their enthusiasm for the needle arts, have great discussions, and join occasional field trips. Empower Dance: We share different types of music, dance free-style, or just meditate to the “beat.”
Kitchen Care Working Group: Volunteers oversee the four kitchens and help out with maintaining them.
Men's Groups #4: Our purpose is to discuss issues in our lives of a personal nature and other concerns that affect us as men. Neighbourhood Group-Centretown /Glebe/Ottawa South: We meet in members’ homes to get to know each other better, to hear interesting speakers, and to have discussions. Neighbourhood Group-Riverside Park: We meet in members’ homes to discuss topics pertinent to a Unitarian congregation. Painters' Circle: An informal group of artists at all levels of skill who come together to paint, advise, and encourage. Pie Makers and Bakers: We raise money for good causes by getting together to cook and sell pies. Seniors' Service, Lunch, and Program: We are a group of 50-70 energetic seniors who meet monthly to share worship, lunch and a program of information or entertainment. Sound Booth Operators: We maintain and operate the church's sound and lighting systems for Sunday services, weddings, funerals, meetings, concerts, and other events. Unitarian Women’s Group: We meet to talk and learn about various subjects. Our motto is: “We treasure our fellowship and common purpose.” Unitarian Seniors' Lunch Program: A monthly event that includes worship service, lunch and a speaker/entertainer. UU Round Table Lunch Group: We meet regularly during the fall and winter to eat and chat. Everyone welcome, especially newcomers. Voyageurs Men's Group: A support group for men looking to develop their full emotional and spiritual potential. Open by invitation only. Women’s Personal Growth Group: In order to nurture our emotional and spiritual growth, we explore resources related to topics of interest, share our own experiences, and learn from one another. Yoga: We provide programs for exercise, flexibility, and relaxation at different levels of ability. Young Adults (aka The Noble Birds): We’re 18-30-something-year-olds who meet to explore spirituality and have fun. Youth Group: We’re an active group of youth in Grades 9 to 12. In addition to our own events, we attend youth conferences in Eastern Ontario, Quebec, and New York State. |
