Wedding Ceremonies

The Lay Chaplains of the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa perform wedding ceremonies for couples who are not from the congregation but who wish to commit themselves to a loving relationship. They hold services for same-sex couples, couples who do not have a faith background, and those who come from differing faiths.

To help you plan your wedding, we provide a Wedding Ceremony Booklet. Couples are not restricted to materials in the booklet, but many find it helpful for putting together a meaningful service which reflects their backgrounds.

Where do you want your wedding to be? You can choose to hold your wedding in Worship Hall. This hall with its soaring, wooden ceiling and beautiful view of surrounding wooded areas, is designed for grand occasions. It includes:

  • Excellent acoustics and a modern sound system
  • Theatre-style seating which accommodates 325 people
  • A new Steinway piano

Your can also choose to have your wedding in your home, a reception hall, outdoors, or in any location of your choice in Ontario.
